Architecture Design of Conversion Theatre 11 in Zurich by EM2N:

Bookmark and Share

EM2N was designed Conversion Theatre 11 located in Zurich, Switzerland. When starting to work on the competition it soon became evident that a “gentle” conversion was not possible within the financial and technical framework. Only a strategy dealing in a radical way with the existing building fabric could succeed. Demolishing the original Stadthof provided the chance of realizing a customized building.

A new spatial layer was placed around the laid open and enlarged stage and auditorium, which develops its height in a way that the highest point is reached at the corner of Thurgauer-/Wallisellenstrasse, thus proclaiming a confident urban attitude. This simple volumetric gesture mediates between the opposite Hallenstadion and the adjoining small-scale residential houses at Birnbaumstrasse.
The dynamics of the new building is counteracted by the presence of the heavy stage tower. A skin of perforated steel and aluminium sheeting covers the building “all over”, thus underlining the equality of roof and walls. With the exception of the few precisely composed “eye windows” and the glazed entrance area, the aluminium sheeting covers dozens of small windows. The theatre obtains two faces like the neighbouring Hallenstadion: at daytime it seems mysteriously secretive, while at night a glittering and festive atmosphere is created.

The inner organization reacts to the new urban gesture. The new entrance at the junction is visible from all directions. The restaurant was relocated from the unattractive location at Wallisellenstrasse to the more prominent side of Thurgauerstrasse, gaining a direct visual relation to the Tram stop and the Hallenstadion.

Luxurious Villa of Casa Son Vida by tec Architecture & Marcel Wanders Studio:

tec Architecture & Marcel Wanders Studio have designed ultra luxurious villa situated in one of top tourist destinations Palma de Mallorca. This building design aims to redefine the notion of the luxury villa by moving most of the paradigms of luxury towards a more contemporary and forward-looking expression of architecture and technology. Casa Son Vida with the 8,500 square foot luxury residence transgresses the constraints of site and context, redefining luxury architecture as it is typified by the traditional and prolific Mediterranean and Tuscan styles otherwise found on the island. This act of defiance is accomplished by creating an entirely new structure that erupts unexpectedly from the walls of the existing Mediterranean home. The new structure evolves into a bold, curve- ceous shape that completely evades conventional definition. The idea is that the two pieces co-exist as separate entities, meeting abruptly and then quite literally turning away from each other. Their interaction suggests a chance encounter and speaks to the deliberate and bold juxtaposition of the two elements. The new structure could even be likened to a futuristic spacecraft that has quite literally landed on a typical Mallorca villa.

HOUSE DESIGN;

Interior House of Atlanta was designed by Robert Couturier, this house is using the luxury Victorian interior design style. Victorian interior design style was very famous in the time of Queen Victoria, the whole interior decoration is very lavish, luxurious and ornate – think colors, fabrics, patterns, lots of furniture, photos and knick-knacks. The whole feel is warm, comfortable, cozy, and – in spite of what you are probably thinking about the Victorians as people – very relaxed, and easy to live with! All the rooms at this house were designed using classic furniture and nice arrangement, these are very inspiring photos if you looking for about Victorian interior design inspiration.
